Fairfield Police responded to Greenfield Street near Kohl’s on Thursday, Feb. 28 around 4:30 after receiving multiple calls about a garbage truck that had reportedly rolled over.

Members of the Fairfield Police Crash Reconstruction Unit arrived on scene and determined that a 2016 Isuzu dump truck was traveling southbound with a full load of garbage. The truck was allegedly traveling too fast and slid out of control, crossing the double yellow line and hitting a group of large rocks on the property of Creative Minds Early Childhood Center (234 Greenfield Street).

The driver, identified as 19-year-old Anthony Bustillo of Bridgeport, was arrested and charged with reckless driving and reckless endangerment.

Bustillo was released after posting a $400 cash bond and is scheduled to appear at Bridgeport Superior Court on Tuesday, March 12.
